ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The Port of Anchorage is offering free tours to the public each Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The tours began Sunday and will be held every Sunday until Aug. 28.

The Anchorage Daily News says free parking is available at the Alaska Railroad's Ship Creek Avenue headquarters. From there, shuttle buses will take people to the nearby port.

Port officials say the port turns 50 this year. Officials say the port will be providing coloring books, crayons and treats for children to commemorate the anniversary.
